My name is James!

I recently graduated from NJCU with a degree in Media Arts. My main interests are cinematography and video editing, though I also have experience in writing and directing.

My passion for film began in high school, when I took a class—appropriately called Film—during my sophomore year. For a long time, I was captivated by narrative filmmaking: writing scripts, creating shot lists, shooting, editing, and all the other steps I explored further through my college coursework! More recently, though, I’ve turned my attention to documentary filmmaking. What started as a challenge (see: The Coaches of Heavy Hitters) has now become my main focus. I still love screenwriting, but I’ve found that the connections you build while creating documentaries are unlike anything else.

When I’m not working on film projects (or procrastinating on them), I’m probably taking pictures of my cats, Amber and Appa. If you’ve visited my photography page, you’ve likely already met them!
